Hi all…

Thanks to everyone who has contacted NSBPOA and us personally, asking if the North Shore Beach Photo Contest & Calendar would take place in 2010.

After much thought, much back and forth and reviewing our calendar and checking it twice, we decided the year-long commitment was too unrealistic of an undertaking for this year. We have enjoyed turning page after page of the Calendar, enjoying each photo as if looking at it for the first time, and we hope you have too!

We admit, we got a little over-protective of the Calendars!

We didn’t want to over-advertise to be sure everyone received their copies as promised. So much so, that we have a small box of about 50 left. Feel free to stop by Albo Realty on Rt 25A to purchase copies, or send in the Order Form. You can also call (631.821.5319) to check availability.

The Calendars have arrived!

Four boxes on a skid were dropped down our chimney! We were filled with glee as we shared some hot cocoa and cookies with our FedEx driver before he flew down the street, on his way to bring merriment and mail to many other boys and girls!

The 2010 North Shore Beach Photo Calendars have finally arrived! And they look fabulous, as expected!

If you haven’t already heard the exciting news, all NSPBOA Members receive one complimentary copy of the Calendar as a “Thank You” for your 2009 Membership! They should be arriving in your mailbox by the end of next week.

If you pre-ordered a Calendar, you should be receiving them soon, if you haven’t already. Those who chose to pick up your Orders instead of having them mailed, expect a call in the next day or so to make arrangements.

Whew! After everyone on our checklist (including all the Winners!) is taken care of, we will have just about 80 Calendars left. We expect a flood of calls by next week, so get those last minute orders in now!

The Calendars are at the printers! We were hoping to have them ready for next Saturday’s NSBPOA 60′s themed Potluck at the Clubhouse, but it’s looks like they’ll be coming in just a few days after. We’ll be announcing our early December pick-up dates soon, so stayed tuned…

Pre-orders have been coming in weekly since the Awards Ceremony in September. We locked in our price, specs & quantity with our printer, so when we sell out our pre-orders, we are officially sold out. DON’T MISS OUT! Printed calendars are expected to be delivered by November 21st, just in time for the 1960s Potluck at the Clubhouse. Stay tuned…

We are NOW taking Pre-Orders for the 2010 “Spirit of North Shore Beach” Photo Calendars!

Calendars are $10 + $2 for Shipping (to save on Shipping Cost & Delivery Time, you have the option of picking up your Calendar(s) in December at designated Rocky Point pick-up locations/dates to be determined, or by Appointment).

LIMITED SALES! Only one run of Calendars will be printed & delivered by early December. Once the Calendars sell out in Pre-Orders, they will no longer be available.

Wow! What a night!

Thank you ALL for making the Opening Reception & Awards Presentation spectacular, inspiring and fun! Marylou and I are getting some much needed rest, so stay tuned for more thank you’s and acknowledgements!

Close to 100 residents, neighbors, family and friends attended the much-anticipated event of the year to find out whom among the 12 Finalists would receive top honors. The Clubhouse was transformed into a Gallery, and all attendees became judges for the night as they cast their “People’s Choice Vote” for their favorite photo they wished to see on the cover of the upcoming “Spirit of North Shore Beach” Photo Calendar 2010.

Stephanie Brick from New Hope, PA wowed the crowd and took the vote with her stunning photo titled “Independence Day: The Spirit of Celebration”. Set against a dramatic Long Island Sound and sea cliff backdrop, the photo shows a celebratory crowd enjoying a nighttime Fourth of July fireworks display at Broadway Beach. Fireworks can be seen as far away as Port Jefferson and along the Connecticut horizon.

First Prize went to Howard Stevens from Rocky Point, Second Prize to Stephanie Brick from New Hope, PA and Third Prize to George Bambara from Staten Island and Rocky Point. In the Shutterbug Category (Ages 15 & under), First & Second Prizes went to Rachel Mannetta (Age 14) from Rocky Point, and Third Prize went to Claire Paetzel (Age 3) from Mattituck, NY.

The Runners Up were: Michelle Wacker from Rocky Point, Erica Pereira from Washington DC, Linda Jacobellis from Rocky Point, Marina & Dimitry (brother & sister) Rohrbach from West Hempstead, and Caroline Mugno from Avon, CT.

The Photo Calendar, which we had comped up samples of on display and already being considered a keepsake, features all twelve winning photographs, along with an Honorable Mentions section in the back showing all the remaining entries. Calendars are available NOW for very limited pre-sale, to be delivered in early December.

Help us congratulate our Photo Contest participants!

You are invited to attend the Opening Reception & Awards Presentation, 6pm on Saturday, September 12, 2009. Light refreshments, desserts and beverages will be served.

Doors open at 6pm for viewing and People’s Choice Voting. First, Second & Third Prize Winners, as well as the People’s Choice Award will be announced during the Presentation that begins at 7pm. Everyone is eligible to enter to win the 50/50 and other cool prizes.

We received close to 100 incredible photo submissions for the Photo Contest, 16 of which were from Shutterbugs (15 yrs old & younger). It was so hard to choose, but there are only twelve months in a Calendar year! You will get a chance to see just how difficult it was, ALL of the submissions will be shown at the Reception in a rotating slideshow. And we are going to print all of the submissions that did not make the final twelve in the “Honorable Mentions Gallery” of the Calendar. Be the first to get a sneak peak of the Calendar that everyone’s been buzzing about! And cast your vote for the photo you would like to see on the cover.

Light refreshments, desserts and beverages will be served.
