The NORTH SHORE BEACH PHOTO CONTEST is a community-building and fundraising project of the Conservation & Beautification Committee of the North Shore Beach Property Owners Association (NSBPOA).
The goal of the NSB PHOTO CONTEST is to foster a sense of community by sharing our appreciation for our natural surroundings. By accepting our challenge to go out and take photos that exemplify the spirit of the Rocky Point area, we are encouraging residents, neighbors, visitors of every age to share their perspectives on what life is like here. We want you to show us a point of view that will expand our appreciation for a place many of us have known since childhood in eras past, while newcomers have touched down on this little spot on the island by chance and love it like no other place on earth.
We can’t wait to see your poignant expressions of salty air and sunshine in summer, burning orange sunsets in autumn, wind-swept cliffs in winters and lush background blooms and after-dinner strolls in spring. And don’t stop here, be creative!
The mission of the Conservation & Beautification Committee is to restore a sense of endearment for our home on the cliff by creating projects that engage and inspire the community. We are also dedicated to helping stabilize and rehabilitate the fragile nature of the bluff with projects like twice yearly beach plantings and snow fence installations, as well as talks, meet-ups and other projects.
NSBPOA was established in 1928 in the town of Rocky Point, on the north Shore of Long Island in Eastern Suffolk County. We are situated on a magnificant 1.18 mile stretch of (rocky) beach on the Long Island Sound. Read more about us on our website: www.northshorebeach.com.
